  4. I am having a very hard time choosing my absolute favorite between "Before Night Falls," "Lobster Pot, Provincetown, Cape Cod," and "Grand Canal, Venice."

I love travelling to the northeast so the Lobster Pot brings back happy memories of that area, but I've never been to Italy and the Venice painting takes me somewhere I've never been - it makes me feel like I'm on vacation eating lunch on a balcony and looking down at the water.

The one I keep going back to over and over is "Before Night Falls." What gets me most is the the way the time of day was captured - it really does "feel" like early evening...the color of the sky, the lights starting to come on in the upstairs apartments...I am taken in by the attention to detail...the street light, the lines in the sidewalk, the windows in the building in the distance, the fact that you can see in the window in the corner apartment!

It's difficult to choose, but I will pick "Before Night Falls" as my absolute favorite - the colors and feel of it just keep me coming back for more! :)

I'm a Facebook fan, so I can be contacted through there...and I will follow your blog!

Thanks for thinking of this fun contest!

  5. I'm having a hard time picking a favorite between the two diner prints in your shop! I moved away from the New York area to the West Cost recently, and there's nothing I miss quite like having a diner around every corner. I love the way you've captured them!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. Wow it's difficult to pick a favourite. You are very talented, David. If I absolutely HAVE to pick a favourite, it would probably be the one of the Yellow House. I think, it's because I live in a yellow house ;)
I also just joined your facebook page, which I found via your etsy thread.
    Great work, all around!

  9. I am such a fan of builiding paintings. Cape Porch with its weathered shingles, welcoming expanse of porch and seagrass, sand and surf in the distance wrapped me in summer memories. Lamp Light is wonderful also. If you know "Grey's Elegy" you know the feeling of this painting ...." and leaves the world to darkness and to me " I am delighted to have found your site. Wishing you every good thing for this New Year.

  11. I lived in Albany for 5 years & am a NYer, so I love all your upstate NY prints a lot, but my favorite is the Miss Albany Diner. Your work brings back a lot of great memories & I still make it a point to visit NY at least a few times a year.

  13. David, I have the same reaction as Emily further up in the comment list. Where I now live there are no diners and I miss them, the food, the clientele, the design, the late hours, all the good things that make diners unique to the East Coast. I like both of your diners.

Beautiful work, this was the first time I saw your shop. I'm an East Coast person although I've lived other places, too.
